This guide provides step-by-step instructions for creating an exam from scratch. If you're building an exam form from an existing item bank, simply follow the steps after the item bank and item creation.
- Log into your Prolydian account at https://app.prolydian.com and go to Exams > Items
- Click “Create New” to make new item bank. Fill out the required fields and add any additional (optional) values.
- After creating your item bank, click on the record to open it. Once your newly created item bank is opened, press the drop-down option next to “Add Item”.
- To import an item, select “Import Items”. (Keep in mind, the file must be correctly formatted and in the .CSV file type before submitting, as described in the menu presented upon clicking “Import Items”)
- To create an individual item to add to your item bank, press the “Add Item” button. Then, select the type of question and manually enter the prompt, answers, resources, and all other details required.
- To set items as active (so that they may be used in an exam), select all items that you wish to include by either clicking each circle to the left of the question title.
- However, if you want to select all items, press the "Select All" button on the right side of the screen.
- Click the “XX Items Selected” button, then press “Update Statuses”. Set the status as “Active” when ready to be deployed.
- To tag an item, press the plus underneath each individual question and type in your tag.
When you are ready to add these items to an exam, select all the items that will be added, and again open the drop-down under “X Items Selected”. Click "Build exam form" and follow the steps. If the bank is linked to an exam already, you can select the exam, otherwise click the create new test button. Click "Build” and update any exam settings and save. When prompted to "Select Target Test", either select the exam that the items will appear on or create a new exam entirely.
- Next, navigate to the “Exams” button on the left dashboard and select the drop-down option “Exams”.
- Open the “Design” tab and press the trash can associated with the default form. After this, refresh the webpage.
- What once said “Default Form” will be replaced with the form just created.
- Next, open the “Versions” tab. Press the “Create New” button and name your first version.
- Navigate to the “Events” tab and open the “Events” option that appears with the drop-down options. Create your event by selecting the version of the exam that was just created.
- To test the exam, click on the drop-down option under “Events” titled “Register”. Select the Exam just created, and press “Register an Examinee” and type in your own name and information. Finally, Select the “My Exams” drop-down option underneath “Exams” to open and begin your exam.
