Updating Exams & QC Review

Updating exams

This article provides instructions, along with relevant links to guides, on how to properly update exams and test them to ensure changes were accurately implemented

Edit items, exam settings, and forms

Create a new exam version

  • From Exams > Exams > "Exam name" > Versions
  • Click the "Create New" button
  • Add a name for the version and click the "Save" button

Amend the exam version on events

An exam event requires that an exam version be assigned to it. The assigned exam version will be used to determine which sections, items, tools, exhibits, and general settings that are presented to candidates. After creating a new exam version, you can amend the event's current version from the Deliver tab of the exam you're working on or from the main Events listing. Exam changes are not live until the new version is amended on the event. After this, the next candidate to begin testing will receive the updated version.

  • From Exams > Exams > "Exam name" > Deliver
  • To amend the version, click the actions dropdown icon (three dots) next to the event
  • Click the Amend Version action from the actions dropdown list
  • Select the version from the dropdown list and click the Save button

Exam QC review

We strongly recommend completing a QC review of every exam form following the steps below.

Important: If you have candidates actively testing on your event you should create a QC event and review the form there instead of on the live event. The best way to do this is by copying the existing event so that the settings/notification are the same.
